KYOCERA AVX has launched the new KGU Series C0G (NP0) RF multilayer ceramic chip capacitors (MLCCs). These capacitors are designed to meet the increasing demand for compact RF capacitors that deliver consistent and reliable performance in communications applications. The KGU Series features four miniature EIA chip sizes, ranging from 01005 to 0805, and is engineered with Class I C0G (NP0) ceramic dielectric materials, known for their exceptional stability. These materials exhibit a temperature coefficient of capacitance (TCC) of 0±30ppm/°C and virtually no voltage coefficient. Additionally, the capacitors use base metal electrodes made of copper plated with a tin/nickel alloy, which offer high capacitance-voltage (CV) capabilities in compact sizes.

The KGU Series also boasts ultra-low equivalent series resistance (ESR), high power handling, high Q factor, high self-resonant frequencies (SRF), and tight tolerances, making them ideal for various communications applications. These include filter networks, matching networks, high-Q frequency sources, as well as tuning, coupling, bypass, and DC blocking circuits. The capacitors are especially suited for use in cellular base stations, Wi-Fi networks, wireless devices, broadband wireless systems, satellite communications, and public safety radio systems.

Moreover, the KGU Series capacitors are RoHS compliant, resistant to thermal shock, and offer long-term reliability with no ageing or piezoelectric effects. They are available in tape and reel packaging, making them suitable for automated assembly processes.
