Integrated Converter-Inverter PFC Modules with Wide Switching Frequency in Transfer Molded Package for High Output Power Applications
ON-Semiconductors has introduced the NXH50M65L4C2SG and NXH50M65L4C2ESG, new integrated converter-inverter power factor correction (PFC) modules designed based upon standard aluminum oxide (AI2O3) substrate and enhanced low thermal resistance substrate, respectively. These new transfer−molded power integrated modules (TMPIM) are suitable for rugged industrial applications with high output power.
With an optimized layout and configuration, both 50A rated NXH50M65L4C2SG and NXH50M65L4C2ESG can offer a wide PFC switching frequency range between 18 kHz and 65 kHz. The power module integrates a single-phase converter with four 75 A, 1600 V rectifiers, a three-phase inverter that uses six 50 A, 600 V IGBTs with inverse diodes. The modules also include a dual−channel interleaved PFC that comprises two 75 A, 650 V PFC IGBTs with inverse diodes and two 50 A, 650 V PFC diodes.
All the above features are congested into a compact transfer-molded DIP-26 package that measures just 73 mm x 47 mm x 8 mm. With an integrated heatsink, this sealed and robust package delivers high corrosion resistance and offers space-saving up to 20% than the similar solutions.
