Automotive Qualified Constant Current Source Buck Regulator with Wettable Flanks for Driving High Power LEDs

Recom Power has introduced the new AEC-Q100 automotive-qualified RPY-1.5Q which is an automotive-grade constant current source buck regulator designed for driving high-power LEDs. The integrated inductor means that a complete LED driver can be realized in a compact 3mm x 5mm x 1.6mm thermally-enhanced QFN package with a maximum current output of up to 1500mA set with an external sense resistor. With a wettable flanks feature, this RPY-1.5Q regulator is ideal for automotive applications and also suitable for general visible and IR lighting use in buildings, drones, and robotics, and as a precision current source in test and measurement equipment.

This product is of 3 x 5 x 1.6mm and can provide a precision programmable constant current up to a full 1.5A from an input of 4 to 36VDC for nominal supply voltages of 5, 12, or 24V. PWM or analog dimming is possible and an enable input and fault flag output is provided. It is fully protected against input under-voltage, over-temperature, and output short circuits and over-current. Operating junction temperature is from -40°C to +125°C.
