Nisshinbo Micro Devices has introduced the new two-cell Li-ion/polymer battery protection IC NB7200 that features the industry-leading high-accuracy overcharge, over-discharge, and discharge overcurrent detection and improved current detection accuracy by using an external resistor. Major features of this device include charge/discharge overcurrent detectors with high accuracy of ±1.0 mV. Lower-resistance of sense resistor by overcurrent detector achieves heat reduction on the board, and low consumption current and low standby current achieve longer driving time with batteries of small capacity.



  • Overcharge detection voltage range of each cell: 4.2 V to 4.8V, Accuracy: ±15 mV

  • Overdischarge detection voltage range of each cell: 2.0 V to 3.2 V, Accuracy: ±35 mV

  • Industry-leading High-accuracy Two-step Discharge Overcurrent Detection

  • High-accuracy Short-circuit Detection Voltage

  • High-accuracy 0 V battery Charging Inhibition Voltage

  • A leadless and ultra-small package, DFN1616-8-GM (1.6 × 1.6 × 0.4 mm) is adopted.
