BA8290xYxxx-C - Ultra High Noise Tolerant Comparators for Automotive Applications
ROHM has announced the release of BA8290xYxxx- C series of ground sense comparators that can deliver a high noise tolerance against EMI (Noise Resistance) for sensor applications in automotive systems such as ECUs and Powertrain.
The advancements in computerization and the increase of electronics devices have increased the amount of noise in electric vehicles and cars equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). But the noise evaluation process for each board and systems cannot be done during the development process, it is possible only after the whole car has been assembled. This process is lengthier, costly and requires a number of iterations.
The BA8290xYxxx-C series shows superior noise tolerance when used as comparators to determine the threshold value of sensor output signals. They maintain an output voltage fluctuation within ±1% across the entire noise frequency band when testing according to ISO 11452-2 standard, whereas the conventional comparators have ±20% of tolerance which leads to malfunction. This new series is susceptible to noise and provides greater reliability while reducing system design man-hour by reducing the amount of time needed for noise evaluation and measure implementation that typically requires the use of external filters.
