PT8211 16-Bit DAC

PT8211 is a dual-channel Digital to Analog converter IC that is specially designed for audio-related applications. It is based on 16-bit resolution and the internal architecture is based on the R-2R resistor ladder network.

It supports a wide range of sample frequencies and compatible with TDA1311 in functionality. The digital input timing format follows the Least significant bit justified (LSBJ), referred to as the Japanese input format.

PT8211 Digital to Analog Converter IC Overview

PT8211 is an Audio grade, dual-channel (stereo) based Digital to Analog Converter with a 16-Bit resolution. It is suitable for use in various audio-related products where the Digital to analog converter is required for audio reproduction or conversion-related work.

As it has two channels in a single chip, it effectively reduces additional component counts in stereo applications.

PT8211 also offers low total harmonic distortion, thus audio noise-related issues are minimized as well as it consumes low power making it suitable for use in mobile or battery-powered applications.

 

How to Use the PT8211

The below image is showing the standard interfacing of the Digital to Analog converter. It requires basic components, only two op-amps and few low pass filter related RC circuits across the output.
